WHAT IS RAZOR BUMPS?

A razor bump occurs after hair removal when the new hair grows out and then curls back in, piercing and growing into the skin next to the hair follicle. This condition is known medically as Pseudofolliculitis Barbae.

WHAT IS AN INGROWN HAIR?

When you shave, the razor stretches the skin and cuts the hair off millimetres beneath the surface of the skin. Sometimes, by the time the hair has re-grown to reach the skin’s surface, the follicle has become blocked and instead of growing up and out of the skin, it grows back down into the follicle where it balls up, causing infection.

WHAT IS RAZOR BURN?

Razor burn can happen on any part of the body that is shaved. It looks like a rash and can feel tender and itchy. Sometimes occurs after a close shave and can cause a lot of discomfort

WHAT IS ITCHY SKIN?

The skin can become itchy anywhere on the body when new hair growth comes through. Scratching the skin causes further irritation and aggravates bumps and pimples which can become inflamed, or even infected.
